German term or phrase: Schwarzfilmwechsel
The text I've already mentioned a couple of times has a section about how to copy the layout of a brochure when publishing it in another language and/or how to incorporate the second language into the original design. This particular part refers to the former method:
"Wird eine Broschüre komplett in einer zusätzlichen Sprache veröffentlicht, kann das Layout, sofern nur schwarze Schrift verwendet wurde, durch einen Schwarzfilmwechsell übernommen werden."
I have a sense of the process conceptually, but no clue as far as the terminology is concerned. Any help would be appreciated.

language may be substituted by changing the black film.

Seems to be a kind of offset process in which there are two plates, one for image and another for script, and the second plate may be substituted for another written in a different language. I believe such plates are called "overlays" in digitalizing programs.
