German term
Natel
German to English
Other
Telecom(munications)
Swiss term
There is a list of contact information for employees:
Listed among the headings is "Natel". So Natel is just the Swiss way of saying "mobile phone"??? I did some Googling and one seemed to get the impression that Natel referred to a specific type of mobile phone and wasn't just your ordinary "garden variety" mobile phone.
Any help/explanation appreciated.

You were right: Natel IS just the Swiss way of saying mobile phone. The word originally comes from the network systems Tom mentions but it is now used for mobile phones in general. It is very common, everybody in Switzerland knows the term.
